Max Helyer is a British musician, songwriter, and producer best known as the guitarist for You Me At Six. 

His unique playing style and ability to craft memorable melodies have helped define You Me At Six’s signature sound. Over their 20 year career the band achieved x2 UK no1 albums and x7 Top 10 albums, countless Radio 1 playlists and became an arena mainstay,   headlining London’s O2 Arena and topping festival bills such as Slam Dunk and 2000 Trees. 

Helyer had a significant presence in the studio for all 8 of their albums, gaining invaluable experience from producers such as Garth Richardson, Neal Avron, Jacquire King & Dan Austin amongst others.

Outside of YMAS, he has collaborated with various artists including Mouth Culture, Venus Grrrls, The Hara, and VC Pines, whilst also working alongside acclaimed writers such as Iain Archer, Eg White, Joel Pott, Carey Willets, and Nick Hodgson.

Helyer’s ability to work across genres and help other musicians shape their sound has gained him recognition as a talented and versatile writer and his hands-on approach to music making, whether in writing, producing, or performing, continues to drive his creative endeavours.
